Aim:
This Professional Development Award -Office Management and IT is designed to allow students who have gained here HNC Administration & IT qualification to progress to HND study level. The course would also be suitable for high level Administrators/Office Managers operating at a supervisory level. The course will enhance IT skills to a high level as well as covering Office Management, Project Management and Development of Individuals.
Length of Study:
The course consists of 7 HN credits each of which should last 18 weeks with tutor support.
Entry Requirements:
HNC Administration & Information Technology or suitable experience at supervisory/managerial level. Candidates should have access to a PC with MS Office 2007 (with Access) and internet access.
Contents:
Office Management (including Planning, Budgeting, Controlling, Managing Change, Evaluating Systems and Services, the Recruitment Process, Training and Staff Appraisal), Project Management, IT in Business - Advanced Word Processing, IT in Business - Advanced Databases, IT in Business - Advanced Spreadsheets, Developing the Individual within a Team
Study Method:
Home based self-study with a tutor to contact for help and advice, and occassional progress meetings in college.
Assessment:
Assessments on this course are continuous throughout the year assessment methods include open and closed book assessments and/or oral presentation. Some unit assessments must be taken under supervised conditions either in college or elsewhere with appropriate invigilation.
