Course Content:
The course provides essential underpinning knowledge and provides a good grounding in the fundamentals of computing including software development and computer support.

The topics you will study include: Computer Architecture, Computer Operating Systems, Computer Planning, Visual Basic Programming, Hardware Concepts, Systems Analysis, Using MS Office.

SCQF Level: 7

Entry Requirements:
1 Higher or SGA at Intermediate 2 or NC Digital Media or other relevant computing qualifications or experience. Mature students without formal qualifications may be accepted via interview.

Study Mode:
1 year full-time or on a part-time basis (see below).

Educational Progression:
Direct access to 2nd year of HND Computing: Software Development or HND Computing: Support.

Career Paths:
Trainee Programmer, Trainee Systems Analyst, Computer Operators, General Computing Positions, Software Developer.

Day: 9.00am - 4.00pm
Evening: 6.00pm - 9.00pm

Cost:              
£110 per credit, plus appropriate SQA fees.
