Work towards employment with innovative Learning Programme
Reid Kerr College has launched an innovative programme of short courses aimed at helping young people into employment.
The New College Learning Programme, supported by Skills Development Scotland, offers young people aged 16-24 years a choice of short courses combined with work placements in a range of sectors. Courses have been designed to provide qualifications and employability skills as well as giving employers direct access to new talent.
We are offering courses in a range of sectors including Care, Creative Media, Engineering, Retail, Hospitality, Construction, Beauty, Hairdressing, Renewable Energies and IT.
Charlie McDade, Vice Principal said “This is an exciting opportunity for young people to gain vocational qualifications and employability skills in a sector of their choice. The programme will provide students with valuable experience from work placements with carefully selected employers, combined with relevant vocational training. We believe this programme will provide students with the practical skills and experience needed to help them progress into employment or into further training”.
Limited places are available on these courses and applications are now open. Start dates for Programmes are between August and the beginning of 2013.
